My appologies!

New postby Ashi-Sama » October 19th, 2009, 4:48 pm

Okay. I know I've been kinda outta it for a while. Maybe having a good or free day to pop on and say hello or hold a decent conversation. Unfortunately there's been a lot going on at home which prevents me 99% of the time from coming on. The other 1% is me just being brainless (I may have smudged the numbers a bit  ). Everyone's been so great, they deserve an explanation for my absence, especially considering I'm a Service Administrator.

My sister has been sick a LOT lately. As has the whole house. We've been passing the flu around and it's all because someone has been drinking out of the Orange Juice jug. Annnyways, as some of you may know yesterday was the one year anniversary of my nephew's passing. I was super close to him and raised him as my own, Typo'll tell you. I was more of a mother to him than his own. I was always staying up late and waking up every 3 hours for feedings, up with him all night when he was sick all the way till a few days before his passing when he was in the hospital. It's a long story which I haven't the time to go through and will post about (maybe) later.

Anyways. My mother was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia. Big surprise there considering that I, my grandmother and my great-grandmother all have. She was screwed from the start. My maternal grandfather is also in failing health. He's got maybe 3 months left at best. He's 5ft 6 and less than 125lbs. The doctors have narrowed it down to MS or MD. Either way there's nothing they can do. We've been visiting him as much as he can tolerate. Considering his 4 kids still live at home they're kind of pressed for space. Atleast he has something to keep him going. His youngest is 14 and having trouble coping.

My sister's health is going downhill pretty fast. For those that don't know she has liver failure that started with her last pregnancy. She would have lasted MAYBE another day when she was pregnant. The doctors have done every test imaginable with the exception of exploratory surgery. They've done a biopsy, 2 MRIs, 3 CT scans and copious amounts of blood-work and they STILL don't know what is going on. They think it's Auto-Immune Hepatitis so Thursday, October 22nd, they will be putting her on Prednisone (a steriod) and an Immunosuppressant (it weakens the immune system to almost nothing). Needless to say she'll basically have to be in a bubble to keep from getting deathly ill.

In the meantime, I'm having to take care of Damion (her oldest and now only) son, as well as her. I was also looking for and found a job! Yay! I'll be working at a novelty store which is an awesome thing. That'll help with the financial part of our problem. So much crap is going on and Christmas is coming up and my sister has NO money for christmas and this will be the first Christmas Damion will remember, so it's just RAWR. Not enough hours in the day, days in the week and dollars in the bank account.

I'll try my best to get on more, but it may be a while before I'm on more and actually talking. Again, I apologize to everyone for not being on more. And if you actually read this whole thing, I salute you!

tl;dr I'm not here. Trying to be more. That is all.

Thanks bob! I need it. x.x oooookay, so an Update!

Sister is on an immunosuppressant and a steroid for her liver. The doctors say if there's no improvement or she has a bad reaction to the medications, then a liver transplant is her final option, so the time's seriously running out. They're at their last resort and the end of their ropes (the docs) they've taken another 16 vials of blood from her to run EVERY SINGLE POSSIBLE test that could say if it's genetic and if it's an infection/parasite, just to have absolutely every facet of this covered. I, apparently, also need to get tested to see if I have high liver counts, because it's a possible indicator that I have the same disease and is a ticking time-bomb. TBH... I don't think I want to know. Just like people can go on and on with cancer until the doc tells them they only have a few months to live and it devastates them and they die.

Just hang in there Tonia. It's said God doesn't give us more than we can handle, but obviusly he's really testing your endurance and faith these days. Remember to take care of yourself first, because if you're not well, you'll be no help to anyone else. Sometimes it just -has- to be a "me first" attitude to stay strong enough to care for others. Prayers and hugs headed your way!
